Registering for the Program

Those who register for a minimum of four weeks or the full eight weeks, will benefit most from the program. We are unable to provide refunds for missed classes. Registration should be done in advance either online or by mail. Full payment must be received before the registration will be considered complete, as we are unable to reserve space for a student until registration and full payment is received. Signed medical and indemnification forms must be received for each student prior to the start of class or the student will be unable to participate. Please see below for all forms.

Enrolling a Student

On-line:

Use our on-line registration form and pay with a credit card. See below for additional requirements.

By Mail:

Print out and completely fill in a registration form. Mail in the form with payment and all additional required forms as described below. Payment should be made by check or money order to: Buzzards Sailing School. Please note first and last names of children you are paying for in the lower left corner of the check.

Additional required steps for all students:

1. Print out and fill in and sign the medical information form.
2. Print out, read, and sign the Release of Liability and Waiver Agreement.
3. If not registering online, mail all forms with payment to: The Buzzards Sailing School, P.O. Box 906, Pocasset, MA 02559.
4. Read the "Information for Those Enrolled" page. You will also be sent a hard copy of this information with your enrollment confirmation and class assignment sheet.

Class Placement

Students are placed in the appropriate class level based on their skills as assessed by the BSS staff. If your child is new to the program he/she will be placed based on the information you supply on the registration form regarding previous sailing experience. Students that have been in the program before are placed based on recommendations made by the staff at the end of the previous summer.

Scholarships

Six, two-week scholarships are available for year-round residents of Bourne who are new to the program. They are available on a first-come first-served basis. If you are interested in applying for a scholarship, please fill out the scholarship application form and send it with a completed registration form.
